Win Damian O’Hare (sort of) – The 2010 Ambarussa Yuletide Contest

Yes, I know that it’s a little early for Christmas carols and Santa, mince pies and Dickens – I won’t put the fairy lights up before 6th December – but for various reasons I have to run the traditional Yuletide contest earlier this year.

The contest was a big success last December; if I remember correctly, there were over 70 people from all over the world participating. Break this record, guys! After all, you can

WIN AN ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPH BY DAMIAN O’HARE!

Your fearless Webgnome walked for days barefoot uphill in the snow, fighting dragons, flying monkeys and Velociraptors to get this original autograph for you from the Castle of Doom!*

*Ebay.

Damographic Evidence

It’s one of the official cards for “The Royal”, showing Damian in his role as Dr. Nick Burnett. The scan is not very good; the quality of the card is excellent.

Along with the autograph you’ll get a selection of the best chocolate in the world.

And what do you have to do to win autograph and chocolate?

Just send an email to

webgnome at ambarussa. net

and answer the following question:

“What character is Damian O’Hare playing in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides?”

A) Groves

B) Gillette

C) Greitzer

That’s all! Even I could answer that!

IMPORTANT: Please put “Contest” or “Damian O’Hare” in the subject line.

Deadline: 30th November, 2010, midnight GMT.

Please read the following rules before you send off your mail.

RULES:

1. By participating in this contest, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted the rules.

2. You have to be at least 18 years old to participate.

3. Please be fair: only send in one mail per person.

4. No cash pay-out of your prize.

5. No correspondence will be held over the outcome of the contest.

6. If you are the winner, you’ll have to provide us with your name and address.

7. We’ll send your prize out asap, but have no influence on postal services.

8. Should, for any reason beyond our control, one of the prizes not be available, we’ll replace it with a different prize of the same value.

9. We accept entries from all over the world. If, however, your country does not allow the import of chocolate, you’ll “only” get the autograph (sorry about that).

Good luck!

Odds and Ends

DVD page update, dead “Titanic” link has been fixed

Various page update and correction of order

Dead link to “The Royal” gallery S07E06 has been fixed

Biography update

Dead “news” links all through the page have (finally…) been fixed

Still hunting the java bug crashing the Safari browser

“Time out” error on news blog: hosted externally on wordpress, there’s nothing I can do about that. Sorry!

So far for the odds. Now the ends: as per 1 February, I’m on my own here. Unfortunately, first P. and now her hubby lost their jobs, and it goes without saying that securing the roof over their heads and paying the bills takes precedence over collecting news for a website. Thanks so much for everything, it’s been great fun doing this. I wish them all the best and hope they’ll both find a new job very, very soon.

I hope you guys won’t be disappointed as there will probably be fewer updates now and news won’t be posted as quickly as you’re used to. I’m up to my nose in work and life and don’t have as much time for this website as I’d like to, but I promise that I’ll try my best to keep “Ambarussa” running – it’s fun!
