Special thanks to Evvie for finding/making these!

The following merchandise for PotC: OST has landed on my desk. It’s a stickerbook:
It came with the information that “Officer Gilette” (sic) had also made it into the book. And indeed:
Great news! Lt. Gillette on the lid would give my laptop at work a little more credibility than the “I can haz brainz?” zombie sticker that it’s currently sporting, though one could argue that it’s perfectly fitting for our meetings.
Obviously, much care and consideration has gone into the production of this merchandise:
I guess the stickerbook was put together by the same professionals responsible for this masterpiece:
Anyway. If you’d like to buy this spectacular piece of movie memorabilia, you can do so here. Or you’ll just wait for our traditional Yuletide Contest and hope that you’ll win this beauty, among other lovely things.
Greg Ellis, aka Lt. Groves in the PotC movies, has given an interview to Jim Hill, which is now available online. He talks about his work on “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” with Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally and Damian O’Hare, and ponders the possibility of Groves’ return in PotC 5 (working title: “Pirates of the Caribbean: Zombies in Uniform”). You can find the interview here:
Here’s a small excerpt from the interview:
“And at one point, there was a semi-serious discussion among the actors that we should just keep going. Just sail on in to Mexico and then see how the locals would react as all these pirates and Royal Naval Officers came up on shore.”
I can’t help but feel that an escape of Gillette and Groves to Mexico would have made for a far better movie.
49 screencaps of Damian O’Hare as Lt. Gillette in “Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides”. As Gillette spends most of his limited time in the company of Groves, fans of Greg Ellis will hopefully also find a couple of caps to like.
As always, please feel free to use the caps, credit isn’t necessary, just please don’t hotlink. Cheers!
While the holiday-laundry is gently doing its spins in the washing machine, I have time for a quick update:
I’ve updated the list of reviews for Double Feature. The shows saw their last performances on Saturday, so there won’t be any further updates to that entry.
I’ve added a small gallery for Double Feature.
Now that Double Feature is over – would you like the benches as a souvenir? Or maybe the bar from The Swan?
Not quite finished with Double Feature yet – there will be a contest later this week in connection with the plays.
The Scottish Movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has been released on DVD and Blu-ray. Coming to your local DVD-by-Mail-Service very soon.
In completely different news, Kitaky has sent in fanart: “The Royal meets My Little Pony”. Looks like Dr. Burnett was really deciding his departure on a hoof…!
Greg Ellis played Lt. Groves in all “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. Damian O’Hare is mentioned, and as they worked side by side, this interview gives us a little insight into the work “behind the scenes”.
“We’re boys, and we’re in a pirate movie. What’s not to love? “
Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), Lt. Gillette (Damian O'Hare), Lt. Groves (Greg Ellis) and Mr. Gibbs (Kevin McNally)
